Sponsored by the Village Trust and "Awards for All", villagers were invited to set up stalls amd participate in activities using Cuckoo Meadow, donated to North Waltham by William Rathbone in September 1953. The village school set the scene with a 1950s week and every group from the Puddleduck's bouncy castle to the Friendship Club's table games took part.

The event was photographed digitally and oral interviews were recorded. The event organiser, Richard Tanner, was able to announce that we had just received a £14,000 grant from the Lottery to develop this work.
